In its pursuit of FSF for recognizing academic excellence in scientific research in forestry two prizes are awarded annually to the author(s) of the best paper published in Scientific Forestry:

Esteem of Scientific Forestry Prize: Best Full Research Paper

Essence of Scientific Forestry Prize: Best short communication

The prizes can be awarded to an individual or the team instrumental in conducting the published report. In making the awards preference is given to papers describing the original contributions to the theory and practice of forestry.
